In 1982 this aircraft went on duty to The Falkland Isles. It came under fire over San Carlos Water and the pilot, Sgt Evans, although severely wounded managed to ditch in San Carlos water. Sgt Candlish the gunner helped Evans ashore but sadly Sgt Evans died soon afterwards.
XX411 sank soon after and remained submerged for several months before being salvaged and returned to UK.
