Description

Inspired by the Curtiss floatplanes and designed by Denhaut, this type was the first French flying boat. The prototype's first flight took place at Juvisy near Paris on 15 March 1912. This is an original aircraft, at the Helsingör Danish Technical Museum. Photographed on 20 August 2008.
An airworthy reproduction has been under construction for 15 years at Argenteuil, north-west of Paris and is planned to fly from the River Seine on 15 March 2012, the centenary of the type's first flight.
